Hello again world, I haven’t updated in a very long time here “other than basic changes”
So, let’s get to some actual content! 🙂 Here is a friend’s dilemma, he bought a used Desktop from someone on Facebook marketplace and it turns out, it was disgusting inside the case. We tossed the case/keyboard and mouse and learned a lesson why buying used, can be difficult.
Reseating the CPU and DIMM did the trick, but the dimm slots had to be cleaned thoroughly as well.
After that, we needed a new bootable OS. The previous owner had a pin lock, which the information was lost.
I have always kept a persistent ubuntu drive for just the case.
Installed and cleaned up partitions, then onward to installing Windows 10 Pro.
Win10 / Updated to Windows 11 Pro and I threw in a GPU for taking so long. Been a bit busy with life, but thank you to Kyle for letting me take on this challenge.
I’m working through my resume soon, updating a bit and possibly heading back to school for my Net+ this time.
